At Premier Health Chiropractic, our licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) will perform a thorough examination of the patient prior to applying certain techniques specific to the patient’s condition.
How is a treatment plan determined?
First, the PT will refer to the patient’s medical history and physical examination to determine an accurate prognosis and establish a management plan. In most cases, the patient’s MRI, X-ray, and/or CT scan results are carefully studied and then subsequently incorporated into the development of the treatment plan.
In cases where additional information is required, an electrodiagnostic testing method, such as an electromyogram or nerve conduction velocity test, will also be prescribed by the attending PT.
At our clinic, we want to be as thorough as possible when it comes to patient treatments. This is why we take all necessary precautions, including recommending additional (or repeat) tests or examinations, to ensure that each of our patients receive the correct type of treatment/s specific to their condition.
There are several different approaches to PT management, with each one based on a patient’s specific needs. In most cases, PT management involves a combination of modalities used in physical therapy. These include the prescription of, or assistance with, specific exercises, manual therapy and manipulation; mechanical devices like traction; education, and physical agents such as heat, cold, electricity, sound waves, radiation, rays, prescription of assistive devices, prostheses, orthoses, and other forms of interventions.
Additionally, physiotherapy at Premier Health Chiropractic involves working with patients to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs. We develop fitness and wellness-oriented programs to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle for our patients.
In simpler terms, our physical therapy services are focused on assisting individuals to develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functionality throughout their lifespan. We provide therapeutic treatment in situations where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease, or environmental factors.
Here at Premier Health Chiropractic, we believe that functional movement is central to what it means to be healthy.
